Deterring terrorist attacks using hostile activity detection, response, services and training
Terrorists are continually looking for new targets. As security around government facilities has increased, so the risk has been pushed towards softer targets such as businesses. If you believe your company is a potential target for terrorists you should be deploying Hostile Activity Detection and Response.
Single Issue pressure groups and Terrorists almost always follow doctrine. This means that their preparatory activity and attack methodology are common. They need information on potential targets. This is gained from Internet research and, most importantly, from close reconnaissance of the target. A range of targets are reconnoitred in detail before the final selection is made. Selection is based on a number of factors: symbolic value; profile; likelihood of achieving success (i.e. significant numbers of casualties); suitability for the type of attack (attack method is often selected before the target); and accessibility. Following selection, further reconnaissance (using internal and external video/sketches/photography etc) and dry runs take place.
Intelligence reporting and experience shows that the most effective way of reducing the risk of terrorist attacks is to deter them in the preparatory stage. When an obstacle at a potential target is identified plans are usually aborted. Therefore, anything we can do to create that obstacle could save the lives of your staff and prevent damage to your buildings and assets, and negating any subsequent loss of business.
This can be achieved at low cost and with a high chance of success through Hostile Activity Detection and Response methods. This means the ability to identify those who might be terrorists in the process of obtaining detailed information about your company, and then taking action to deter further planning.
Our approach is to teach the necessary skills and methodology to your security supervisors and selected security officers so that they can establish a programme within the company. |
